Combating the Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB)
What is PSHB?
The Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB) is an ambrosia beetle that tunnels into trees, creating galleries where it farms a symbiotic fungus, Fusarium euwallaceae. This fungus blocks the tree's vascular systems, leading to branch dieback and, eventually, tree death.
Our Proven Approach
- 95% success rate in saving infected trees.
- Using registered chemicals from Pan African Farms.
- Annual formula improvements in collaboration with chemical professionals.
Important Treatment Information
It is important to note that the PSHB beetle can adapt to chemical treatments if only selected trees in an area are treated while surrounding neighborhoods remain untreated. To ensure ongoing protection, a courtesy follow-up visit will be conducted one year after the initial treatment to reassess the risk to your property.
Signs to Watch For
- Missing leaves or dying branches in the canopy.
- Sap oozing from tiny holes in the bark.
- Small, pen-tip-sized holes (1-2mm) on the trunk and branches.
- Once it has infected the tree and goes untreated it will result in tree death.
